ShareIncome, Poverty, & Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2007

This annual report by the U.S. Census Bureau describes demographic changes over the past year. The report is based on data compiled from information collected in the 2008 Current Population Survey, Annual Social and Economic Supplement.

For 2008, 15.3% of Americans lacked health insurance, which is about the same percentage as in 2007. However, the actual number of individuals without health insurance declined slightly for the first time in seven years. The decline was mostly due to greater availability of coverage for low-income children.
