 Virginia DMAS RFP 2008-07 for Community Mental Health and Other
Behavioral Health Provider Auditing Services
The Virginia
Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) released the request for
proposals (RFP 2008-07) on September 18, 2008. Proposals were due
November 6, 2008, but an amendment changed the due date to December 1,
2008. Duties of the contractor shall include performing audits of
outpatient psychotherapy and substance abuse treatment, therapeutic day treatment,
mental health support services, intensive in-home, and private
intermediate care facilities for the mentally retarded (ICF-MR) offered
by in-state
and out-of-state providers that participate in the Virginia Medicaid
program. Additional provider classes may be added or substituted at a
later date as deemed necessary by DMAS. On March 23, 2009, the contract
was awarded to Health Management Systems, Inc. The contract has an
initial period of three years from award of contract, with provisions for
three one-year renewals.
