ShareWomen's Mental Health: What it means to you

Good mental health is an important part of a woman's overall health. The mental health is as important as the physical health. In fact, new research shows how closely the two are connected. Taking care of one's mental health can help one feel better physically and taking care of one's body is important for mental health as well. Good mental health helps to enjoy life and cope with problems more easily. It offers a feeling of well-being and inner strength. Just as a person takes care physically by eating right and exercising, it is important to note that things can be done to help protect the mental health. This document was prepared by the Office on Women's Health, Office of Public Health and Science in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to demonstrate the importance of mental health and the correlation between mental and physical health.
