ShareReview of the Missouri Department of Social Services Claim for Title IV-E Training Costs for Residential Treatment Centers & Foster Care Parent Training for July 1, 2002, Through June 30, 2006

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) for the federal Department of Health and Human Services reviewed claims for Title IV-E training costs for residential treatment centers and foster care parent training for July 1, 2002, through June 30, 2006, submitted by the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS). The OIG found that $570,000 of the of the $3.9 million (federal share) in Title IV E (foster care and adoption assistance to children) training costs were unallowable. Most of the unallowable costs were related to the residential treatment centers.
