Building a Bridge from Fragmentation to Accountability - The Prometheus Payment Model

This article debates how professionals should be rewarded for their quality work rather than the quantity. The current fee-for-service payment plan has created large volume instead of high quality work. The article lays out an alternate approach called Prometheus Payment that focuses on allowing a patient to pay for the care over the course of a defined clinical episode or set period of management of chronic condition.

The goal of the Prometheus Payment is to achieve higher quality care from the professionals and still keep health care at a reasonable cost.
