Behavioral Health Program Northeast Expansion into Lackawanna,
Susquehanna, Luzerne, and Wyoming Counties
The Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare is the single state
agency with responsibility for the implementation and administration
of the Medical Assistance program (Medicaid). Medicaid is a federal
and state program which provides payment of medical expenses
for eligible persons who meet income or other criteria.
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit
proposals from counties and/or licensed, risk assuming private
sector behavioral health managed care organizations to become
primary contractors to manage the purchase and provision of
behavioral health services in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's
mandatory managed care program called HealthChoices.
