ShareReorganization/Layoff Plan: Colorado Department of Human Services

On August 18, 2009, Colorado Governor Bill Ritter presented a plan to balance the state budget. It specifies that all departments were required to reduce spending. The Department of Human Services (DHS) developed plans to make staff cuts within the DHS executive office, the Ft. Logan Mental Health Institute, and the Grand Junction Regional Center. Plans for each care facility call for selected reductions in bed-count and associated reductions in staff.
