ShareDisability & Health State Chartbook, 2006

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) presents data about the health of people with disabilities. The CDC found that people with disabilities report poorer health than people without a disability. The CDC also found that people with disabilities often smoke more, are more often obese, and get less physical exercise than people without disabilities. Information is provided for each state in graphs and data tables.

The data were collected from the 2001 and 2003 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, a state-based system that obtains health information through telephone health surveys with technical assistance provided by CDC.
