 Proclamation by the Governor of the State of Texas
Governor Rick Perry vetoed
House Bill No. 2572. Bill 2572 was a mental health and mental
retardation bill that limited local authorities in making decisions
at the community level with regards to allocation of state funds for
mental health services.
The current law (Section 533.035 Health and Safety Code),
which Governor Perry supports is market-oriented, which puts
consumers in control.
