Proposition 66: Amending Three Strikes Law
This initiative measure amends sections of the Penal Code and amends
a section of the Welfare and Institutions Code.
Since its enactment, Proposition 184 has been used to enhance the sentences of more than 35,000 persons who did not commit a serious
and/or violent crime against another person, at a cost to taxpayers of more
than eight hundred million dollars ($800,000,000) per year.
