 Impact of Limited-service Providers on Communities and Full-service Hospitals
The AHA estimates that there are well over 100 limited-service hospitals currently operating - nearly triple the number from 1997 - and that approximately 30 more
currently are under development. In addition, 3,735 Medicare-certified ASCs currently are open, growing at a rate of 6 percent per year. The Impact that these facilities have on patients and the
broad health care delivery system is beginning to be better understood.
