Illinois Foster Youth Successful Transition to Adulthood Act
The Foster Youth Successful Transition to Adulthood Act will allow emancipated minors- people who leave foster care before age 21- to reenter the child welfare
system or to access services and supports without reentering. Youth accessing the services will be assigned a case manager to help build a personal
development plan to increase self-sufficiency skills. The Department of Children and Families will have primary responsibility for the development and delivery
of services.
