ShareMoreland v. Agency for Persons With Disabilities

The lawsuit, Moreland v. Agency for Persons With Disabilities, was filed by The Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities on behalf of four individuals with developmental disabilities. The lawsuit questioned the rules the Florida Agency for Persons With Disabilities developed to determine the tier assignments. As created by the legislature in 2007, the tier levels assign individuals with developmental disabilities to one of four support service tiers. Three of the tiers cap the per-person funding available for community-based support services.
