ShareDisaster Preparedness Resource Guide for Child Welfare Agencies

The Annie E. Casey Foundation aims to help agencies across the country to prepare for future disasters as written in this brief. The guide offers best practices for disaster management at child welfare agencies. Its recommendations are firmly rooted in published disaster related research and the advice of human service and preparedness experts. It is not a reinvention of disaster management but a synthesis of experts' recommendations, geared specifically toward child welfare agencies. The guide used a number strategies from previously published resources on disaster management. The guide's recommendations are meant to be adaptable for use by agencies in states and tribes across the United States.
