The Mobile Personal Health Record: Technology-Enabled Self-Care

The Deloitte Center for Health Solutions issued a brief stating that although only 10% of adults in the United States currently use a personal health record (PHR), about 50% of consumers surveyed said they would like a mobile personal health monitoring device to alert them to health issues and help them make lifestyle or other change to improve their health. About 57% of consumers want access to an on-line mobile PHR connected to their physician’s office. Compared to consumers over the age of 50, younger consumers were twice as interested in having mobile device access to their PHRs.
