Clinicians'
Adherence To An Algorithm for Pharmacotherapy of Depression In The
Texas Public Mental Health Sector
The Texas Medication
Algorithm Project (TMAP) was a study that evaluated the clinical and
economic outcomes of an algorithm-driven disease management program
for the treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major
depressive disorder in the public mental health sector
After this research, the Texas Department of Mental Health and
Mental Retardation implemented the TMAP algorithms, subsequent to a
legislative mandate, as a component of routine care through the
Texas Implementation of Medication Algorithms (TIMA)
The aim of the
study reported here was to evaluate the implementation of the TIMA
algorithm for major depressive disorder by assessing clinicians'
adherence to the algorithm's recommendations.
