Financing Ohio's Behavioral Health System 2010

On August 4, 2010, the Ohio Association of County Mental Health Boards submitted a financing proposal to the state requesting that the state pay the Medicaid match for mental health services—just as it does for Medicaid medical services. Some of Ohio’s 50 county boards of mental health are expecting that fiscal year 2011 state funding will be insufficient to meet Medicaid expenses for community mental health services because Medicaid caseloads have increased, but the state has decreased funding.
