Medicare Payments in Florida Raise Program Integrity Concerns
Outpatient therapy
services are a covered benefit under Medicare - the federal
program that finances health services for approximately 40 million
elderly and disabled individuals. Each year, about 9 percent of
Medicare beneficiaries use outpatient therapy services, defined
by the Medicare program as physical therapy, occupational therapy,
and speech-language pathology services to improve mobility and
functioning.
