A Guide to Improve Educational Opportunities for Florida's Foster Youth
The document describes 11 goals for improving Florida's child welfare system through better coordination among the Florida agencies that serve children in
foster care. The goals focus on the need to help children in foster care succeed in school by ensuring readiness, attendance, and full participation. The goals
further recognize the need to help children in foster care graduate from high school, enter post-secondary education and employment by engaging with
consistent adult support and mentoring, and receiving trauma-sensitive education and behavioral supports.
