ShareMedicare & Medicaid Programs; Resolicitation of Proposals for the Private, For-Profit Demonstration Project for the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) & Announcement of Closing Date

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) seeks proposals for the private, for-profit demonstration project for the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Proposals are due July 26, 2010. Resulting demonstration projects will run for three years. CMS seeks to expand the number of PACE projects operated by private, for-profit entities. The goal is to ensure that the number of covered lives enrolled in for-profit PACE demonstration projects will be statistically sufficient for a required report.  If no proposals are submitted CMS will conclude that for-profit organizations are not interested in this method of providing care and the two current demonstrations by for-profit organizations will end in December 2010.
