Coverage for Low-Income People: Should the Medicaid program be expanded to cover more of the uninsured? Should there be changes in the Children's Health
Insurance Program?
Obama plans to expand public health care with either of the following two options: raise levels of income people have to be eligible for Medicaid and including
parents without dependent children for eligibility for public health care. These two reforms would affect Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program's
budgets. While Democrats believe in the health care reform, Republicans think this is another tactic for the government to begin
financing all of health care. Likewise, people are skeptical that the government currently has enough money to expand these programs successfully and state
finances will increase while sources of revenue are very scarce.
