 Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act
The Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act (HR 1424),
bipartisan legislation would prohibit group health plans from imposing greater coverage
limits on mental
illnesses than on physical ailments. HR 1424 would require mental health
and addiction treatment services to be covered at the same level as other illnesses in
insurance plans. HR 1424 would require that covered mental health
services must match those covered by the Federal Employee Health Benefits
Plan.
