 CBO Estimate for an Amendment in the Nature of a Substitute for H.R.
6331, the Medicare Improvements
for Patients & Providers Act of 2008
The Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008, House
Resolution, (H.R. 6331), became law on July 15, 2008. The bill specifies
numerous changes to Medicare for 2008 and beyond. Key changes include
phasing out a 50% co-payment for mental health services to the 20%
currently charged for traditional medical services. This analysis by the
Congressional Budget Office (CBO) lists all areas of the bill and CBO
estimates of spending in each area.
