Annual Statistical Report on the Social Security Disability Insurance Program, 2009
Overall in 2009, Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits were paid
to more than 8.9 million people. The 2009 SSDI statistics for categories of
disability were publicized in its annual report. This report includes data on the number of SSDI beneficiaries, their eligibility status, distribution across the states, and distribution by
qualifying disability.
