This document was produced by the Office of the Surgeon, Multi-National
Force-Iraq, the Office of the Command Surgeon, and the Office of The
Surgeon General, United States Army Medical Command. It summarizes the
findings of the fifth Mental Health Advisory Team report on the mental
wellness of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Key findings include the
percentage of troops prescribed antidepressant or sleep aid medications.
The team surveyed 2,279 soldiers and 350 behavioral health, primary care,
and unit ministry members in Iraq. In Afghanistan, the team surveyed 889
soldiers and 87 care providers.
