 Coding Change Request Form for SBI
This form presents reasons that routine alcohol and/ or drug
screening should take place in all medical interactions. The reasons
supporting the routine use of small brief interventions (SBI) are
presented. This form requests that these services be covered as
reimbursable services by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services. The change is projected to help reduce alcohol and
drug-related negative health outcomes. In addition, the cost of
implementation is projected reduce health care costs.
