ShareWeston & Nelson v. Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development

The case, Weston & Nelson v. Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, regards two Milwaukee women who qualified for W-2 as job-ready and were told to find work on their own. The women sued to challenge their placement into the unsubsidized employment category because they were not able to find employment. The District 1 Court of Appeals majority opinion in the case said that the practice of putting unemployed individuals into the unsubsidized job-ready category conflicted with a state law that requires such participants to be already employed.
