Equal Access to Facilities, Services and Treatment Report Regarding Girls Acccess to State-Funded Services in Texas

Released by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the report compiled data about the accessibility of services for girls under the age of 18 served by the Texas Youth Commission, the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission, the Texas Department of State Health Services, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. A key finding was that a gender-gap exists for substance abuse treatment services because referrals tend to come from the Texas Youth Commission, which primarily serves males.
