Florida DCF Statewide Implementation of Behavioral Health Managing Entities Or Similar Model

In July 2009, the Florida Department of Children and Families released a Service System Management Plan. The purpose of this plan is to provide Department staff, managing entities, community-based providers, and other stakeholders with an understanding of the process to consider, select, procures, and implement managing entities or similar models for behavioral health services. A Regional Implementation Plan is to include progress on each of the six stages of implementation listed in Section 6 of this report, with timelines for full implementation by July 1, 2011. The regional plan will also include how each of the ten baseline functions specified in Section 6 of this plan will be addressed. The Department anticipates full implementation of the behavioral health managing entities or similar models in all six regions by July 1, 2011.
