 Letter from U.S. Department of
Education to California Department of Education
This letter sets out conditions that were to be provided to the
federal Department of Education (ED) by the California Department
of Education (CDE). The letter requires that the CDE provide a
report to DOE by August 15, 2006, that details how CDE will improve
California's plan for the monitoring of school choice and
supplemental education services statewide to ensure that these
programs are implemented by the districts. Upon receipt of the
report, ED will determine if other enforcement actions are
necessary.
