ShareThe Virtual Doctor Project (Zambia) Proposal

The 2009 Zambia Pilot Project will set up vehicle-based temporary virtual doctor clinics to offer primary health care via telemedicine to about 40,000 people in the remote Lundazi district within the Eastern Province of Zambia. The pilot will take place from April through December of 2009. This pilot is a project of the Virtual Doctors Project.

The nine month pilot project has a $145,000 budget. This will include costs to establish the project in Zambia; costs for vehicles, technology, and other equipment; and all of the running costs for the pilot including staff wages, medical supplies, fuel, and other expenses.
