 Tenet Healthcare Press Release Concerning Details
About Department of Justice Settlement
The agreement concludes the Department of Justice
investigation of Medicare outliers. In the agreement, Tenet will pay
$725 million over four years and waive $175 million in Medicare
payments. Tenet also agrees to enter in to a Corporate Integrity
Agreement.
This press release also announces that Tenet Healthcare plans to
sell eleven hospitals by mid-2007. A revised management outlook for
2006 and intermediate-term earnings potential are discussed. Capital
investments in remaining hospitals will be accelerated with a focus
on technology and patient care enhancement.
