 National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey: 2004
This report presents summary information about ambulatory care
visits in 2004. The data was gathered from physician offices and
hospital emergency and outpatient departments. In the report, visits
are categorized into primary care, surgical, or medical. There were
over one billion ambulatory care visits in 2004. Nearly half were
made to primary care physicians.
