Linking
TANF Recipients with Paraprofessional Long-Term Care Jobs
More than half, or 56 percent, of TANF recipients are moderately or
highly eligible for entry into long term care jobs. This fact and
others are published in a new issue brief, "Linking TANF Recipients with Paraprofessional Long-Term Care Jobs", released on June 6, 2005, from Mathematica
Policy Research, Inc. The brief was made to see if the need for attracting and retaining certified nurse aides
(CNAs) and home health aides to care for elderly, disabled, and chronically ill patients in long-term care settings could be helped with Temporary Assistance for Needy Families
(TANF) recipients who need jobs as they struggle to move from welfare to work.
