 Medicaid Program; Cost Limit for Providers Operated by Units of
Government & Provisions To Ensure the Integrity of Federal-State
Financial Partnership; Final Rule
On July 30, 2007, the center for Medicare and Medicaid Services
will implement new rules regarding the financing of the non-federal
share of Medicaid payments. The new regulations will apply to all
Medicaid payments and State Children's Health Insurance Program payments made under the authority of the state plan
and under waiver and demonstration authorities. The new rules
specify the following:

Entities involved in financing the non-federal share of Medicaid
payments must be a unit of government

Medicaid reimbursements to health care providers operated by unites
of government are limited to the health care provider's cost of
providing services
