Medicare Program; Conditions of Participation (CoPs) for Community Mental Health Centers
On June 16, 2011, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a proposed rule that would establish conditions of Medicare participation for
Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs). The proposed rule includes health and safety standards,
service delivery standards, and quality care standards, focused on a client-
centered, outcome-oriented approach. CMS will accept public comments on the proposed rule until August 16, 2011.
