ShareProject HealthDesign: Rethinking the Power and Potential of Personal Health Records

Patients' profiles and portfolios in doctors' offices were originally on paper consisting of physicians' notes with information provided by the patient. Recently, Project HealthDesign has created a combination of paper and electronic health records, (EHRs), called personal health records, (PHRs). The next generation of PHRs will be capable of collecting information, analyzing, setting alerts, reminders, and fluidly sharing information between patients, providers, and physicians. This system will depend primarily on the patient in the beginning to collect ODLs, observations of daily living, and then transition the information to physicians and providers. The in-depth and thorough information will allow physicians and providers to correctly treat patients.
