Substance Abuse Trends in Texas: June 2010

This report by Jane C. Maxwell, Ph.D., of The Addiction Research Institute, updated an annual report for the Community Epidemiology Work Group meetings sponsored by the National Institute on Drug Abuse. The report presented indicators of drug abuse in Texas that changed since the June 2009 report and described trends by calendar year from 1987 to 2010. Important changes to drug patterns in Texas included increases in heroin use by a younger population.
