ShareRaising Resilient Children During Tough Economic Times

Stress within a household, especially during an economic crisis, is felt by all of the family members, including the children, regardless of age. Levels of stress peaks at home when the surrounding environment is stressful. Once a child feels a multitude of stress, its sense of security and routines is greatly disrupted. To decrease the outcomes of overly stressed children, children require good communication from parents and involvement with the family to sort through issues. This report offers ideas for parents to create a safe haven for children that builds resilience and protects them from hardships.
