America's Nursing Homes: Registered
Sex Offenders Residing In Nursing Homes Analysis
Our study has
identified 380 registered sex offenders residing in 289 nursing
homes in 37 states. The states with the highest number of
registered sex offenders in nursing homes are Texas with 70
offenders, Illinois with 57, Ohio with 39 (plus three offenders
listing two nursing homes as their work addresses), Missouri with
35, and Florida with 30. Four states: Alabama, North Dakota,
Pennsylvania, and Wyoming with sex offender registries did not
show any offenders with nursing home addresses. Thirteen states
and the District of Columbia do not have online sex offender
registries or do not provide street addresses in the offender
profiles and were not included in the study.
