The Pharmacy Act: H.B. 1041

On June 1, 2010, Pennsylvania Governor Rendell signed a law, H.B. 1041, on collaborative drug therapy management services. As proposed the legislation was designed to permit pharmacists to consult with patients about how to take medications, improve their health outcomes related to medications, and avoid drug interactions. The State Board of Pharmacy will start work 60 days after the bill is signed, and will release regulations in January 2010.
