The New Jersey Department of Children and Families published the 7th progress report, Period VII Monitoring Report for Charlie and Nadine H. v. Christie. The Center for the Study of Social Policy (CSSP) was appointed in July 2006, by the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey as Federal Monitor of the class action lawsuit Charlie and Nadine H. v. Christie. As monitor, CSSP asses New Jersey's compliance with goals, principles and outcomes of the Modified Settlement Agreement (MSA). This assessment is aimed to improve the New Jersey child welfare system. This 7th monitoring report outlines the assessment of the period between July 1 and December 31, 2009. Some topics of assessment include: implementing the case practice model, the placement of child in out-of-home care, mental health care, and services to older youth.
