ShareCase Study: CIGNA-vielife in Second Life: Engaging & Interactive Health & Lifestyle Training for the Global Workforce

Linden Lab, developer of Second Life, a virtual, interactive community, released this case study about a pilot health care community launched by health insurer CIGNA in 2008. The community provides a nutrition program on an island branded GET: Go, Experience, Thrive. The results of the nutrition program are under review; CIGNA may explore a wider range of virtual world training programs in Second Life to address health issues such as sleep, stress, and fitness. CIGNA's Second Life program is run by Vielife, which CIGNA acquired in December 2006. This case study describes how GET island supports behavior modification.
