 2007 National Patient Safety Goals: Behavioral Health Care Version
Two new goals have been added:
- Goal 13 states that clients should
be encouraged to be actively involved in their own care
- Goal 15 states that organizations should identify clients at risk
for suicide
The 2007 National Patient Safety Goals must be implemented by
January 1, 2007. Compliance will be assessed through on-site surveys
and the Periodic Performance Review. Organizations will be found to
be either compliant or not compliant, or the requirement is not
applicable to the organization. Compliance is linked to
accreditation.
