An Overview of the Title
V Community Prevention
Grants Program
In 1992, Title V was added to the Juvenile
Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, establishing the
Incentive Grants for Local Delinquency Prevention Programs, more
commonly known as the Community Prevention Grants program. This

focuses on reducing risk factors and enhancing protective factors
to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice system.
