ShareNew Mexico Youth Providers Alliance v. ValueOptions New Mexico and ValueOptions

The lawsuit, New Mexico Youth Providers Alliance v. ValueOptions New Mexico (VONM) and ValueOptions, was filed in the Second Judicial District in Bernalillo County, New Mexico. The plaintiffs seek injunctive relief, compensatory damages, monetary penalties, punitive damages, and payment of costs and attorneys fees. The lawsuit presents the plaintiffs documentation of VONMs reduction in authorizations for treatment foster care, acute care services, residential treatment care, transition care, and other services. The key complaints are that VONMs authorization reductions and preference for lower-cost treatment have ignored children's needs, increased providers administrative costs, and exposed providers to financial hardship due to insufficient notification of policy changes.
