Disability Rights New Jersey, Inc. v. Velez
The Department of Justice (DOJ) Civil Rights Division filed the brief to a private lawsuit seeking relief in New Jersey. The issue is the state's failure to provide services for individuals with disabilities in the most integrated setting appropriate to their needs; the placement rate from institution to community-settings has slowed and new admissions generally have been placed in an institution.
