 North Dakota Senate Bill 2326 to Elect Family Coverage Option
North Dakota is the first state to exercise the Family Opportunity
Act (FOA) option of the Deficit Reduction Act. By doing so, families
in the State will be able to purchase health and mental health care
for their children with severe disabilities under a Medicaid buy-in
program. The FOA does not require that families relinquish custody
of their children to the State child welfare system to obtain
intensive Medicaid services.
