Audit of Information Technology Security Included in Health Information Technology Standards, A-18-09-30160

The federal Office of the Inspector General for the Department of Health and Human Services released the results of a review and audit of health information technology security standards developed by the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology in 2010. The auditors noted that the ONC standards for health information technology had focused on interoperability and failed to include guidance on basic information technology security.
