 Enrolled Text of Texas Senate Bill 187 to Expand
Medicaid Buy-In Program for Children With Disabilities
The legislation, Senate Bill 187 and House Bill 67, allow
families earning up to 300% of the federal poverty level to buy in to
the states Medicaid program by paying premiums on a sliding scale
established by income requirements. The new law takes effect September 1,
2009, and programs will be available no later than December 1, 2009.
